I learnt to cook this French dish when I was a student. It is an inexpensive dinner consisted of different kinds of vegetables. It is colourful, aromatic and tastes delicious.
Cooking this soup was a complete improvisation. I used what I had in my kitchen: cauliflower, tomatoes, peppers, onion, lentils. It turned out to be a tasty combination as well as a dish that doesn’t involve any trouble.
I love the smell of freshly baked bread. It permeates whole flat making you feel so cosy. I was given this recipe by my friend, Summergirl. I changed it a little bit. You can do it too by adding your favourite seeds or nuts to it.
I adore this dish. It contains my favourite ingredient – coconut milk. Besides, it consists of lime juice and green chili peppers that makes an amazing composition of different tastes. The dish is a little bit sour, sweet and spicy. Because of the lentils and beans it is also thick and very nutritious. It’s just wonderful!
This is a dish made of aloo (potatoes) and gobi (cauliflower). It’s popular in India, Nepal and Pakistan. Each chef cooks it in a little bit different way. You can add green peas or carrot or whatever you like, but the base (potatoes and cauliflower) is always the same.
Dahl is a name of a dish cooked of different types of legumes. Pulses with vegetables and other ingredients make an extremely nutritious combination.
Dahl is also a very easy dish to cook. All you have to do is to fry onion and garlic, cook some lentils, add your favourite seasonings and any vegetable or herbs you have. I usually cook dahl when I don't have much time, energy or ingredients for more complicated dish.
Legumes (e.g. peas, beans, lentils) are fundamental to any vegetarian diet. These little seeds are rich in protein, minerals and vitamins. One of my favourite type of legume is lentil. I usually cook soup of it and serve with chapati. This extraordinary ingredient has been cultivated for thousands years. It’s well-known throughout the world.
As it is quite difficult to find sweets suitable for me (the great majority of them contains milk or eggs), I am left to my own devices. Here are home baked oat cookies with coconut and raisins but you can add whatever you like.
I used to believe it was difficult to cook decent waffles without eggs. One day I was given a waffle iron and I searched for a recipe on the Internet. The first one I found turned out to be excellent.
This is not the most beautiful dish in the world. But for sure it’s one the the simplest and very nutritious. You don’t need a lot of ingredients to feed your family or friends. I cooked a potful of the soup today and now I am wondering for how long the two people will eat it.
