When I was a small girl my grandma had a beautiful vegetable garden. I didn't work in the garden at all as I was too busy playing in my sandpit. Just a few weeks ago I started my own veggie garden with five plants in it for start. I had a problem with snails-terrorists but I managed to save my patch (both the gluttons and the veggies survived). Carrot and coriander didn't sprout at all but broad bean is bigger and bigger, I had a good crop of raddish and there is one courgette still growing. Here are the photos of the results.
Yesterday Manchester Vegan Fair took place. It was a great event on a beautiful sunny day. There was live music, vegan cuisine, a movie tent, about 80 stalls, two bars, vegan ale, cosmetics, clothes and much more. The bars and some stalls were inside Irish Club. Outside there were other stalls and catering vans. Unfortunately I didn't have time to explore the city.
I managed to go to Unicorn Grocery that offers a wide range of organic food. This is a great place for ethical shopping.
It was a wonderful day in a very nice city.
I didn't manage to go to all the places I had been planning to go. I wanted to visit more restaurants but I went to many shops with vegan products instead. I also bought some second-hand stuff on flohmarkt.
My sister and I are visiting our mum in Germany. Apart from spending time with the family, the purpose of the visit is to search for vegan places. The proper research starts today.
The weather has been rather British: the sun shines between showers and a beautiful rainbow shows up.
In March I took part in Vegan Package Swap again. This time my pair was a Polish girl living in Czech Republic. She told me she wasn't vegan and she didn't want to get any vegan cheese, milk or yougurt. These are the products vegans desire the most so it was a hard nut for me to avoid these goods and please her.
A few weeks ago I hosted a coachsurfer from Italy who lives in Bristol. Francesco spent one night at my place that was the great time. He invited me to his city where I went for two days. Francesco was an amazing host. He showed me the city and cooked delicious vegan dinner. We spent the evening playing board games with his adorable friends.
