Jam can be bought in every single grocery for just few pennies. However, it tastes so great when you prepare it at home. Firstly, you can make jam from any fruit you like and add your favourite herbs or spices. Secondly, the whole house smells wonderful when you cook it. Thirdly, you can be sure it doesn't contain any harmful ingredients, such as glucose-fructose syrup. Moreover, fruit is the main component of your jam, which is not a rule in a store-bought one.
You need:
800g-1kg strawberries, chopped
0,5 cup sugar
2 teaspoons agar agar
Method:
1. Place the strawberries in a deep frying pan or pot. Cook for about 15-20 minutes.
2. Add agar agar, mix thoroughly and cook for next 10-15 minutes.
3. Put the pot aside and wait until the jam cools down. If it's not thick enough, continue cooking to evapotare the liquids.
