Silesian potato dumplings are very popular in Poland, they are also known in Germany. Silesian dumplings are springy, soft, and filling. They are a great idea for cheap and easy dinner. You can serve it with your favourite sauce or as a side dish with caramelized onion on top. I love them with mushroom sauce. |
You need:
5 potatoes, peeled and divided into quarters
potato flour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
Method:
1. Cook the potatoes until soft, drain, mash and put aside to cool.
2. Place the potatoes in a bowl and level with a spoon. Divide in 4 equal parts, remove one of the parts and fill the space with potato flour. Return all the potatos to the bowl, add salt and oil, and mix precisely.
3. Dust your palms with potato flour. Form plum-sized balls, flatten them a little. With your thumb make a depression in the centre of each dumpling.
4. Bring a pan of salted water to boil and add the dumplings. Boil until they rise to the surface.
