Poppy seed buns are nice for dessert (very filling dessert!) with a cup of tea or for breakfast with warm plant milk. To prepare them you need a basic yeast dough. I use the same recipe on planty of occasions: when making pizza, flatbreads, or patties. You can replace fresh yeast with an adequate amount of dried yeast for the same effect. You need:
- for dough:
3 cups plain flour
50g fresh yeast
2-3 tablepoons vegetable oil
1 cup water
a pinch of salt and sugar
-for filling:
400g sweet poppy seed paste (or peanut butter, jam, pudding, fruit...)

Method:
1. Combine the yeast and water in a bowl. Mix precisely.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until smooth.
3. Place the dough in a warm place for 30 minutes and let it rise.
4. Form buns this way: click or like this: click
5. Bake until golden brown (about 20 min) in 180°C.
6. Top with icing.
